The Automobile cooperative industrial estate at Kappalur registered originally for automobile related industries in 1991 on a sprawling 22 Acres has a total of 201 developed plots at the key industrial place in Madurai close to Thirumangalam. The Estate now accommodates any entrepreneurs (not specifically automobile related)

The Estate still has a few vacant plots to be allotted and the needy entrepreneurs all welcome to contact the General Manager, District Industries Centre or the Special Officer of the Society.

The Printers Industrial Co-operative Society is rendering service to small Printing Press owners since 2002. The society is functioning continuously on profit since inception.

The Autorickshaw drivers Industrial Co-operative Societies, started with TAMCO financial assistance for the benefit of people belonging to Minority Communities (Islam and Christianity), are of great help to poor auto drivers since the lending is on subsidized rate of 6 % per annum. The scheme helps them earn a livelihood continuously and let them own the vehicle in about 4 years. The District has 3 Industrial Co-operatives Societies registered under this category.
